Most of our
patient records
(with the exception of some historical records) are now kept on
computer. Our aim is to gradually incorporate all historical records by
the process of 'back-record-conversion' Some patients may have concerns
about personal information held on computer databases, however, we are
fully registered with the Data Protection Registrar and conform to the
regulations concerning the holding of patient records on computer under
the Data Protection Act.
We do not, under any circumstances,
make available any information held about a patient to any third party
without the express permission of the patient concerned and we never
make our address database available to companies for the purpose of
direct marketing.
As a patient,
you are entitled (under the provisions of the Act) to inspect any
information we hold with respect to your patient record. Under the terms
of the Act, we may make a charge for doing this, and currently we are
able to provided printed copies of patients' records within five days
for a charge of £10.
