Veneers ...
... are very thin
laminates of porcelain or composite (with or without a metal foil
reinforcement) which is bonded to the front surface of a tooth to
cosmetically improve its appearance. Each one is individually made to
fit the patient perfectly.
Often there is a large
spacing between two central upper incisors, or damage to one or more of
these and veneers can repare the damage or visually improve the
appearance of 'gappy' teeth.
Your dentist will
match the colour of the new veneer to the colour of your existing teeth,
thus ensuring as perfect a result as possible.
Unlike a crown, a
veneer needs very little preparation, and in the majority of cases all
that it required is a slight 'roughening' of the enamel of the existing
tooth to prepare for the adhesion of the veneer.

Veneers are very thin...
thinner than the average fingernail, and made from enamelled
porcelain or composite material. When applied, they look
completely natural. |

These veneers are so thin it is possible
to see the dark red background through the veneer itself. |

the application of the veneers has closed up the gaps, making
the teeth look evenly spaced.
